Lancers competing at OFSAA this week

Two teams from Ursuline College Chatham (UCC) are ready to compete for provincial titles.

UCC's boys basketball team and girls volleyball team are competing at the OFSAA championships this week.

The Lancers basketball team is seeded 3rd at the 'AAA' tournament in Kingston. Their opening game is Monday, March 3 at noon against 16-seed Earl of March from Kanata.

If they lose, UCC will play Monday night at 8, but if they win, they play Tuesday at 10:30 a.m.

The boys booked their ticket to OFSAA by upsetting Windsor Holy Names 73-71 to claim the SWOSSAA title.

The Lancers girls volleyball team is seeded 6th at the 'AAA' tournament in Burlington. They will play three games on Monday and one Tuesday in the round-robin. The top two teams in each pool will advance to the championship quarterfinal on Tuesday night.

The girls needed four sets to beat Holy Names to win SWOSSA and advance to the provincial tournament.
